•    Associate professor in the Neurophysiology Department at the University of Kiel 1990-1991.
•    Adjunct professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, from 1993 to 1996.
•    Master's Degree in Endodontics from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Zurich (1997-2001) and the University of California, San Francisco (2004-2006).
•    Associate professor and director of clinical practice in restorative dentistry at the University of Zurich from 1996 to 2001.
•    Certified in Endodontics and certified MS in Oral Biology from the UCSF.
•    Louis I Grossman prize in 2012.
•    Currently professor and co-president of the Department of Endodontics at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco, and director of the Advanced Education Programme in Endodontology.
•    His main areas of scientific interest are the performance of root canal instruments assessed with mechanical methods, 3D imaging and the efficacy of antimicrobial regimes in root canal treatments.
•    Involved in endodontic biology and currently directs the Dental Stem Cell Biology Laboratory.
•    Has published over 100 articles in impact journals.
•    National and international speaker.
•    Author of several chapters in leading textbooks.
•    Holds a position on expert and editorial committees for high-impact endodontics journals.
